My name is Matt Gallagher, and I am both a person in long-term recovery and the Executive Director of IWR.

I had the pleasure of meeting Maggie approximately two years ago, during which our initial conversation focused on my aspiration to engage actively and positively within the recovery community.

While I may not be a regular gym attendee—thanks to Jess for covering that—I proudly hold the title of Pickleball champion in my household. Additionally, I participate in a local soccer league and enjoy various activities that foster community involvement. I fondly recall the transformative experience of riding a bike during the early stages of my recovery; it brought me immense joy and a sense of freedom.

With a background in behavioral health, I have also mentored under a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor II and currently serve on several local recovery committees.
